Rocco Nacino receives rave reviews for ‘Bayan Ko’, visits Cebu with fellow Kapuso stars today

CEBU, Philippines - Kapuso homegrown talent Rocco Nacino earned positive feedback from viewers for his portrayal of Mayor Joseph Santiago a fictional, newly elected mayor fighting a political dynasty, corruption, and bureaucracy to implement good governance in his town  on GMA News TV’s first original six-part dramatic mini-series “Bayan Ko.”

Directed by multi-awarded independent film director Adolfo Alix Jr., “Bayan Ko” launched last March 10 and was also cited because of its film-like quality, as it was shot on high definition Canon cameras and is the first GMA News TV program to go through the color grading process.

And today, March 16, Rocco takes a break from his busy schedule as he goes to the Queen City of the South together with fellow Kapuso stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan, Kris Lawrence and Barbie Forteza to meet and greet with their Cebuano fans via two simultaneous mall shows.

At 4pm, Rocco and Barbie invade SM City Cebu Event Center while Carla, Mike, and Kris invade Gaisano Island Mall Mactan.

Just recently, Carla Abellana has been invited to represent GMA Network in the 10th year anniversary of the Cambodia Broadcasting Service (CTN) together with Kapuso leading man Mikael Daez. Carla co-hosted a segment in CTN’s grand concert and met with her Cambodian fans during the grand fans day.

Mike Tan, on the other hand, will soon be seen on GMA News TV’s “Wagas: Mga Totoong Kuwento ng Tunay Na Pag-ibig” featuring the love story of Orly and Amy. He is also set to star on GMA News TV’s eight-part historical docu-drama titled “Katipunan” this June, wherein he gets the chance to play the role of Emilio Aguinaldo.

Meanwhile, Kris Lawrence and Barbie Forteza have been busy preparing for their respective albums recently. Kris recorded a track in the US for the original soundtrack album of Manny Pacquaio’s first-ever Hollywood movie, while Barbie inked a record deal with the Universal Music Philippines (MCA Music Inc.) for an album that includes a rendition she did for the song “Meron Ba?,” the official theme song of GMA’s Afternoon Prime Koreanovela “Big.”

On March 17, another Kapuso Mall Show is set at Robinson’s Place in Fuente, Cebu with Kapuso stars Luis Alandy and Max Collins. To know more about the latest updates on the Network's regional events, follow GMA Regional TV on Twitter via www.twitter.com/GMARegionalTV  (FREEMAN)
