Jennylyn Mercado renews exclusive contract with GMA Network
CEBU, Philippines - Multi-talented actress Jennylyn Mercado renewed her ties with the Kapuso Network. She was welcomed by GMA officers after signing an exclusive contract with GMA Network, Inc.
Jennylyn, one of the network’s bankable home-grown artists, was discovered in the first season of the reality-based artista search Starstruck. Nine years after being hailed as the show’s first ultimate female survivor, her career blossomed with numerous TV projects that showcased her versatility and talent.
Present in the contract signing were (from left) GMA Entertainment TV’s Officer-in-Charge Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Jennylyn, GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, and Katrina Aguila (representative of Jennylyn’s manager, Becky Aguila).
Jennylyn says she remains loyal to her home network who developed and supported her over the years. “I’m very happy and I feel so blessed dahil inalagaan at hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA sa lahat ng pinagdaanan ko. Dito ako lumaki at nag-grow bilang isang actress, singer at host. Kung wala sila, hindi ako makikilala ng mga tao. Loyalty is very important to me.â€
During the contract signing, Atty. Gozon said he is not only pleased that Jennylyn chose to stay with GMA but also very proud of her achievements. He considers Jennylyn as one of the network’s well-developed and accomplished talents. “Starstruck pa lang ay fan na ako ni Jennylyn. Kaya tayo ay nagagalak dahil napro-prove natin na ang ating mga programa ay nagkakaroon ng successful conclusion dahil full-pledged star na si Jennylyn.â€
Mr. Duavit, on the other hand, shares that he is very happy of Jennylyn’s evolution over the years. “Hindi ko makakalimutan noong nanalo siya sa Starstruck. At kami ay nagpapasalamat kay Jennylyn at natutuwa sa kanyang ehemplo bilang isang tunay na Kapuso.â€
Jennylyn is currently part of the top-rating primetime series Indio, one of the hosts of the showbiz news magazine program HOT T.V., and a regular mainstay of Party Pilipinas. (FREEMAN)
