CEBU, Philippines - As a pioneer in the Philippine broadcasting industry, NEWS5 Chief Luchi Cruz-Valdes realized early on that reporters are called upon to serve the public beyond their journalistic responsibilities.
The multi-awarded and seasoned broadcast journalist proposed the idea of having a dedicated news team with the necessary knowledge and training to conduct various types of emergency response and rescue operations. And in February 2011, RESCUE5 was born.
Since then, NEWS5’s emergency response unit has received numerous recognitions here and abroad for its efforts during life-threatening incidents and dangerous situations.
Two years after saving countless of lives in distress, RESCUE5 takes public service to the next level as it strengthens its commitment to public service through a weekly reality show that documents the real tension and drama of saving lives hosted by Paolo Bediones every Saturday, 10:30PM starting January 26 on TV5.
For its pilot episode, RESCUE5 presents the coverage of an expectant mother whose early delivery at home had the umbilical cord of the baby left uncut for hours.
The episode will also feature the rescue of a man who was believed to be cursed with cryptic bumps. Don’t miss the heart-stopping scenes from real drama on RESCUE5 starting January 26 (Saturday) on TV5.
