DTI-7 backs Bodega Design Caravan 2024

CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry-Central Visayas (DTI-7) has reinforced its commitment to supporting Cebu’s creative sector through its participation in the Bodega Design Caravan 2024.

Now on its third year, the Bodega Design Caravan which was launched Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Oakridge Pavilion in Mandaue City, continues to serve as a prominent platform for highlighting exceptional local talent in design and craftsmanship.

Organized by the Cebu Culture Art and Design Foundation (CCAD), this year’s event showcased a diverse range of Filipino creativity across categories such as furniture, home furnishings, fashion, and wellness products.

During the opening ceremony, DTI-7 Regional Director Maria Elena C. Arbon joined industry leaders from the creative and business sectors, reaffirming the department’s commitment to supporting the growth of Cebu’s creative industries.

The Bodega Design Caravan 2024 aligns with DTI-7’s broader efforts to promote Cebuano craftsmanship globally through initiatives like Creative Konnect and the 2021 Kalibutan Project.

The Caravan was part of the larger SiKad: Cebu Culture Art and Design Fest, which also featured the Visayas Art Fair and the Blue Mango Awards.

It also included the Sugbo Negosyo Fair, supported by the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), highlighting DTI's ongoing efforts to provide MSMEs with opportunities to showcase their products and expand their market reach.

DTI's support for SiKad is an integral part of the ongoing Fiesta Haraya Bai 2024, a six-week creative festival that celebrates Cebu’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
