Felix Taguiam is new CCCI president

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry elected technology advocate Felix Taguiam, as the chamber’s 38th president.

Taguiam, who owns Deco Sales, Inc., has been an active crusader of maximizing technology in business in order to thrive in the digital age.

A graduate of Bachelor of Science Electronics & Communication Engineering in University of San Carlos- Talamban, Taguiam succeeded the one-year leadership of educator Virgilio Espeleta.

The new business sector leader in Cebu also owns other companies such as UJT Traders, Inc., Deco Air Center, Global Paragon Motors, Inc., Aeropro Meditech, Inc.

He also serves as Corporate Secretary in Greenworld LED Solutions, Inc. and as Director in Man and Machines, Inc., IRS Eastern, Inc., and Megavia Motors, Inc.

He has actively served the Chamber as a Trustee since 2004. Prior his Presidency, he served CCCI as the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services in 2019, Vice President of Membership Development in 2018, Board Treasurer in 2013 and Chair for various CCCI Committees in 2004 to 2006.

  In an earlier interview, Taguiam expressed his interest in pushing for strong digitalization adaption among traders and retailers in Cebu, especially those who have been doing these kind of business for decades.

He said online business has become the Cebuano traders’ focus in the last couple of years. But, in 2020 most of the old-time traders are ready to fully enter the digital highway.

Taguiam said going online is the name of the game in 2020. The year of his reign.
