Managing director Jose Ho Jr., announced in a press conference that while drinking milk tea has passed the impression of being a “fad drink”, the Filipino market’s strong interest especially the younger consumers should be capitalized as this is seen to open up good business opportunities for Filipinos.

In the past, those who are already into milk tea business, had to import their ingredients particularly from Taiwan.

While the training center has already started in Manila, Ho said the company will bring it to Cebu in the next few months.

Apart from starting off a milk-tea business, existing restaurants or food and beverage facilities in hotels and resorts will have an opportunity to offer the best milk tea with lesser cost.

Pro Possemei, is an exclusive and sole distributor of Possmei, a Taiwanese company that is the top distributor of milk tea ingredients and other beverage related products in the world. Apart from the Philippines, Possmei has also expanded to the US and Europe.

“We want Cebuanos to know that they can purchase milk tea ingredients here and much cheaper than ordering abroad,” added Ho.

What is good is, would-be entrepreneurs don’t have to depend on youtube to start off a business.

Founded in 2010, Pro Possmei is an all-Filipino company that provides beverage innovations created to delight businesses and consumers alike.

At present, Ho said demand for milk tea ingredients in the Philippines has tripled because its popularity due to the growing awareness on its health value compared to other gourmet drinks. This basically prompted the company to expand its milk tea academy offer in the Philippines.

Training costs range from P20,000 to P45,000 packages, including raw materials enough to start a small milk tea stall.
