City Savings recognized at BSP awards

CEBU, Philippines —  City Savings Bank, Inc. (CitySavings), the thrift banking arm of Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank), recently received citations from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) at the 16th Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Manila.

With the theme “One Team, One Goal: Resilient Partnership Towards Inclusive Economic Growth”, the award ceremony recognized the outstanding partners who supported the government agency’s initiative and advocacies last year.

Under the digital banking category, CitySavings was a finalist in the “Digital Trailblazer in Financial Services” award for pioneering the use of the Loan Ranger technology, the bank’s unique lending facility which allows sales associates to physically go to areas to process and approve a loan without the customer needing to visit a branch.

According to the BSP, the award honors visionaries of change in the financial services industry for stepping up into the forefront of development and taking advantage of opportunities that various innovative solutions offer hereby providing customer-centric financial services.

CitySavings also received a special citation for Prudential Reporting Innovation for the bank’s participation in the pilot run of the Financial Institution Portal, consistently achieving prudential reporting goals, and actively participating in developing, testing and piloting BSP’s planned innovations in the area of prudential reporting.

The bank recently expanded its services and is on its way to become the finest mass market bank, paving the way for inclusive prosperity in the Philippines.
