Arthaland inks exclusive leasing deal with Colliers

CEBU, Philippines —  Arthaland Corp. has signed an exclusive leasing deal with Colliers International for the former's Cebu Exchange project.

“It is important for us that all aspects of our projects, such as Cebu Exchange, are executed seamlessly by a dedicated, integrated team of experts,” said Jaime González, vice chairman and president of the Century Pacific Group's property unit.

The office tower, located at the gateway of the Cebu IT Park in Cebu City, is the company's expansion project in Cebu’s bustling metropolis.

“With our aggressive target to create higher standards in the development and maintenance of sustainable and green buildings, we are confident that our partnership with Colliers International will help us achieve them," he said.

In Tholons’ 2019 survey of the most attractive outsourcing sites in the world, Cebu ranked 12th. It fared well in terms of talent, infrastructure, and regulatory environment for innovation.

The listed company said its office project should benefit from Cebu’s sustained attractiveness as a global outsourcing hub.

Andrew Gomez, director for landlord representation at Colliers, said he sees outsourcing companies to continue driving Cebu’s office demand.

“Moving forward, we still see outsourcing companies, such as call centers, as well as offshore gaming firms, driving office space demand in the metro," he said.

"Cebu’s skilled manpower and adequate IT infrastructure make it one of the most competitive outsourcing locations in the world,” he added.

Aside from outsourcing firms, several traditional and non-BPO companies continue to open shop in Cebu City.

“These firms should find Cebu Exchange attractive as the building offers flexible unit cut-ups,” said Gomez.

The project, which offers large floor plates of up to 5,000 square meters, is registered with the US Green Building Council, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Philippine Green Building Council, and Building for Ecologically Responsible Design Excellence (BERDE).

"Meanwhile, outsourcing companies continue to gravitate towards the Cebu IT Park and its fringe area due to proximity to residential condominiums and malls. These firms require expansive floor plates to consolidate operations as well as environmentally-sustainable office spaces," he said.
