CEBU, Philippines - Cebu in general will attract favorable gains in the year of the Fire Rooster this 2017 due to its central geographical location, and things will be even brighter for entrepreneurs who pursue businesses in the northern part of the province.
This according to feng shui master Marites Allen as the year of the Fire Rooster commences on January 28 according to the Chinese lunar calendar.
Allen was in Cebu Monday to hold Feng Shui 2017 forecast hosted by Montebello Garden Hotel.
Based on the annual Feng Shui chart for the year, the "victory star" falls in the center of the cardinal direction, wherein Cebu or Central Visayas is situated.
It means that economically, Cebu and Central Visayas in general will act as the catchment basin for luck and prosperity this year, and even in the next two years.
The year of the Fire Rooster, in which prosperity and good energies are mostly directed in the northern part that brings "heaven's luck", businesses that will open in this particular direction are expected to make more profits or are most likely to succeed.
Allen advised Feng Shui practitioners and businessmen to take advantage of this prosperity star, which is directly showering its energies of luck in the central part and the northern side.
Tourism, a water element industry, together with call center, shipping, health and wellness, cold beverage businesses, are likewise seen to do good this year. Thus, there is a need for Central Visayas, specifically Cebu to amplify efforts in tourism, enhance the existing tourism related services and products to catch the good alignment in this industry.
Excellent prospects are also directed on metal-based industries, such as automotive, hardware, engineering, IT or technical, government offices, banking/financial/accounting sectors.
On the other hand, Allen warned industries like wood-based, and earth sectors to be extra careful, as the year's Feng Shui forecast shows limited prospects in this kind of businesses.
Wood industry includes businesses engaged in farming/plantation, agriculture, fashion/textile, publications, among others.
Businesses that fall into the Earth element, like construction, real estate development, hospitality, pawnshop, and anything to do with earth/soil/land development such as car park, leasing, rentals, are seen to face heavy challenges in 2017.
Feng shui is an ancient art and science developed over 3,000 years ago in China. It is a complex body of knowledge that teaches how to balance the energies in any given space - be it a home, office or garden to assure good fortune for people inhabiting it.
Although the Western world and Christian religion has largely considered feng shui belief as mere superstition, most businesses have put faith and have credited their success in submitting to this art. (FREEMAN)
