Distributor assures market: Ample supply of construction materials to meet high demand

CEBU, Philippines - With the increasing demand for housing materials from the real estate sector and typhoon -hit areas, a specialty distributor in the construction industry is confident to address the surge given the sufficient inventory of building products from its suppliers.

CMi chairman Franklyn Ong said that they can supply the growing need given the company's logistics and inventory of building products.

He added that there was also an increase of 30 percent in terms of the demand for housing materials from typhoon-hit areas compared to previous years.

He further said that they continue to meet the needs of developers, housing players, architects and homeowners amid the sustained real estate boom in the country.

Cebu houses the head office and biggest warehouse of  CMi. The company also has showrooms and stockrooms in Manila and Davao.

Ong said that the company is committed to provide the growing market with better options of top-quality and innovative products, cost-effective solutions and good investment.

Recently, CMi officially signed a contract with IKOtile metal roofing systems as the sole distributor of the latter's products nationwide.

Ikotile specializes on the sustainable manufacture of roofing materials for residential or functional buildings such as houses, offices, retail stores, schools, leisure facilities and hospitals.       

IKOtile LTD.-Asia sales director Isao Iwasaki said that they have been working with CMi since last year but has formally ink such partnership this year.

He said that the European company is bullish with the Philippines taking into account its positive growth in terms of population and economy. He added that they aim to address the roofing needs of the booming housing and resort sector of the country.

He said that this is the first time they entered the Asian market, kicking off in the Philippines. He added that it is good to note that there is a positive market reception for conventional roofing tiles.

They shall also introduce their products in India and Japan within this year.

CMi is the existing exclusive distributor of other brands in building materials including IKO fiberglass asphalt shingles, GENTEK Vinyl Sidings and Soffits, CMi Outdoor Deck System, CMi Hardwood, GCI Clay Roof Tiles. The IKOtile Metal Roofing Systems is the newest addition to its lineup. (FREEMAN)
