CEBU, Philippines - Globe Telecom continues to lead in the postpaid segment after ending 2012 on a record-high subscriber base with 1.7 million customers by yearend, posting a 19-percent growth from 1.4 million in 2011.

Globe Postpaid Head Martha Sazon said in the company’s press statement that the consistent remarkable performance of the postpaid segmentis fueled by the strong sales from the best postpaid offers and deals and the improved subscriber mix at 1.6% by yearend.

The fourth quarter of 2012 is reported to add 72,000 net postpaid subscribers, thus sustaining the momentum for the telecommunications company.

“When it comes to postpaid, subscribers choose Globe and stay with Globe. The deep affinity with the brand has grown tremendously over the years with our customer-focused strategies. Customers are choosing us, staying with us, and as a result, we are winning the postpaid market,” she said.

The remarkable performance of the company is also driven by the launch of iPhone 5 last December 2012 when Globe exceeded its sales in website pre-orders, registration and actual purchase and fulfillment that is reported to even surpass its sales for the iPhone 4S.

“Globe banked on experience and expertise that paved the way for a successful iPhone 5 launch. It is such a great device that deserves the best offers and customer experience that only Globe can provide,” she added.

The innovative “reset” program is considered to be one of the highly-favored privileges among customers in which existing Globe postpaid subscribers who are still within the contract were given the flexibility to renew or extend their account to have an iPhone 5 at a discounted rate.

“The Reset program was a huge hit. It allowed us to delight our existing subscriber base with an irresistible deal, while our “genius” offers attracted new subscribers and switchers from competing networks to get their iPhone 5 from Globe,” she said.

Sazon further pointed out the assurance of Globe to continue revolutionizing and redefining the mobile postpaid service with more relevant offers and game-changing deals for its growing customers.

Following the successful launch of My Super Plan in 2010, the company reinforced its customer services and after-sales supported systems with a dedicated hotline, remodeled stores, extensively-trained stores personnel and relationship managers.

Also, Globe merged partnerships with the world’s leading device manufacturers for its postpaid segment.

Last year, Globe subscribers enjoyed freebies, service add-ons, boosters, affordable monthly cash-outs and shorter lock-up periods with the trending smartphones such as the Nokia Lumia 800, BlackBerry Curve 9220 and 9320, Samsung Galaxy S III and Note 2, and the iPhone 5.

Globe was the first telecommunications company to offer postpaid plans in 1994 and has continued to lead the segment with innovation and the product principle of customization.
