CEBU, Philippines - In its aim of staying ahead of the game and thinking ahead of its customer’s needs, HTC as a mobile device manufacturer continues to innovate products. Evident to such commitment is the release of its two new smartphone models in two different operating system (OS), making the company bullish to expand its growing clientele.
HTC–Philippines recently unveiled to the Cebu market the HTC Windows Phone 8X which is the first Windows signature phone in the country with the new Windows Phone 8 OS and the HTC One X+ which is the latest and advanced add-on to its HTC One Series.
HTC Country Manager Richard Javier admitted that even the company may be considered as the “underdog” in the smartphone market today, HTC has been able to differ itself among other players by catering to the unaddressed smartphone demands and needs.
He added that HTC takes pride with its partnership with Microsoft, making the former to scale up with the strong competition.
“In the past few generations, we have seen the growth of Windows and as a brand, we want to be the first to have new platforms. Our strong relationship with Microsoft affirms how we always focus on our customers, which is currently growing in number and will increase more with the Windows platform,” he said.
Microsoft Philippines Windows Phone Lead Jerry Bongcosaid that the current smartphone landscape is not much changing with the Android and Apple’s iOS leave a lot of space to improve on.
With the Windows Phone 8, Bongco said that the new model differentiates itself from other competitive platforms with its live apps and tiles to instantly get updates without clicking the application, making it as the “heart and soul” of Windows Phone.
He also introduced another feature of Windows Phone 8, the Kids’ Corner,that gives the user a worry-free way to let the children play the smartphone without accidentally deleting other applications or important emails, sending wrong texts, or making wrong calls.
There is also the people hub, a modern contact list reinvented, drag-and-drop solution for iTunes, Microsoft Office, and Xbox live built-in games hub.
Bongco noted that the Windows Phone 8 is the perfect companion for the new Windows 8 OS for tablet and PCs since it can be used as a touch screen or the traditional screen, keyboard and mouse.
He added that users can enjoy 7GB of free online storage through SkyDrive, a cloud storage platform for Microsoft, enabling them to access and save documents and other files over the cloud, browser, laptop and phone. (FREEMAN)
