Biketoberfest 2012

CEBU, Philippines - The last weekend of October 2012 proved to be quite exciting and engaging for bikers and motorcycle aficionados, with the 4th annually held Biketoberfest taking place in the Asiatown IT Park grounds in Lahug, Cebu City.

Gathering close to 3000 participants, the three-day Biketoberfest 2012 happened between October 26 to 28, 2012,  reeling in bikers of different ages from the Visayas and Mindanao regions, along with a number of member-participants representing different organizations and clubs based in different parts of the world.

Kicking off with a Ride Around The City last Friday, Biketoberfest 2012 was certainly more than just a large scale gathering of bikers, motorcycle clubs and motorbikes, with the event’s take on seminars, exhibitions, and competitions being the key highlights which defined it as a whole.

Unique competitions like the Slowest Bike, Loudest Pipe and Best Customized Bike made Biketoberfest 2012 quite memorable to one and all, as the event also showcased a Motorcycle Stunt Show, Riding Safety Seminars and Live Performances by Cebu-based talents, as it also featured different surprise numbers from participating clubs and event sponsors.

Organized by Star Touring & Riding Association (STAR Chapter 2301), Biketoberfest 2012’s itinerary also included a Feed the Children Program, making it more than just an event focused on motorcycles, big and small.

With the first Biketoberfest taking place four years ago, Biketoberfest 2012 remains true to the core values of family, camaraderie and friendship which had first propelled it to fruition, gathering an international community of bikers in one exciting and fun-filed occasion.

At four years old, Biketoberfest continues to steadily become an annual tradition in Cebu, defining it as one of Cebu’s unique and highly anticipated yearly highlights. (FREEMAN)
