The other day, Comelec chairman Benjamin Abalos recalled his May 5 order, saying that the writ of execution issued by the poll body’s first division had already been implemented.
Abalos said the status quo order was rendered moot and academic because it was issued after Salazar assumed the town’s mayoralty post.

[Summary] => CEBU CITY — The court has given due course to an election protest against Mayor Letecia Mancio of Madridejos town, ordering a recount of the votes cast during the May 2001 mayoral polls.
Defeated candidate Zenaida Salazar filed the election protest after losing by only 32 votes to Mancio.
Bogo Regional Trial Court Judge Jesus de la Peña ordered the recount despite a motion for inhibition which Mancio filed against him, claiming a brother of the judge is a political rival of hers.
