[Title] => Ombuds orders Minglanilla government driver suspended
[Summary] => The Ombudsman-Visayas has sustained its order to suspend for one-month without pay the Minglanilla municipal government driver, who was earlier found guilty of committing acts prejudicial to public service.

Harvey Reroma was ordered suspended last July 22 but he immediately filed for a motion for reconsideration, a matter that the Ombudsman denied on August 22.

As such, Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Primo Miro then issued an order, dated October 26, directing the mayor of Minglanilla to enforce the suspension of Reroma.

Reporters covering the Office of the Ombudsman found they no longer had access to documents and other information allegedly on orders of Miro.

This is in direct contrast to his boss, Aniano Desierto, who said in a radio interview that the restriction was well within the prerogatives of Miro.

Desierto, nevertheless, said he would review a memo issued by Miro and reverse it if he finds anything wrong with it.
