CEBU CITY - Vice Mayor Renato Osmeña made good his word to quit as overall chairman of the Sinulog Foundation - a post he occupied for 13 years - if media magnified allegations that he kicked a seven-year-old boy during the Sinulog celebration.

Osmeña said he decided to quit out of frustration with the way media lambasted him for an act he said he did not commit.

The vice mayor was accused of kicking Fred Leonard Medalle during the mardi gras to clear the path for the floats.

Osmeña will not face any investigation yet for the alleged incident. [DatePublished] => 2000-01-21 00:00:00 [ColumnID] => 133272 [Focus] => 0 [AuthorID] => 1194344 [AuthorName] => by Freeman News Service [SectionName] => Headlines [SectionUrl] => headlines [URL] => ) ) )
