[Title] => Cordova council rejects plea to defer quarry ban
[Summary] => The Cordova municipal council has practically turned down the recent appeal of the quarry operators to defer the approval of an ordinance banning mineral exploration, especially Mactan stones, in the town.
Representatives of businessman Ed Uyfang and other people engaged in the quarrying of Mactan stones visited the municipal council last week and told the council members that a number of families will be affected by the ban.
However, Vice Mayor Danilo Sinugbuhan and the councilors informed the group that they are determined to approve the ordinance.

[Title] => Badjao project driving wedge between Sitoy and councilors
[Summary] => The proposal to move around 300 Badjaos from Cebu City to Tonggo Island in Cordova town has started to become a thorn in the relationship between town mayor Arleigh Sitoy and the municipal council headed by Vice Mayor Danilo Sinugbuhan.
The mayor's father, lawyer Adelino Sitoy, who has been tasked to draft the memorandum of agreement for the transfer of the Badjaos, lashed at the councilors for prematurely taking up the matter despite the fact that this has not been referred to them yet.
