An inmate in a Cagayan town jail went on a rampage the other day and stabbed four prisoners before he was fatally shot by guards, authorities said.


Inmates at the Alcala municipal jail were making Christmas lanterns when one of them, a certain Marlon Ramos, ran amok with a small blade, police officer Elvis Tarupa told radio station dzRH.


He said the jail personnel tried to calm Ramos down but guards shot him dead after he charged at them. Four other inmates were hospitalized with stab wounds, Tarupa said.
