Superintendent Bensali Jabarani, Basilan police director, said Domingo Ramos, 67, alias Gol, a follower of Abu Sayyaf chieftain Khadaffy Janjalani, was nabbed by a police team led by SPO4 Tabpil Cuevas in Tipo-Tipo town.

                    [Summary] => ZAMBOANGA CITY — A sister of Abu Sayyaf spokesman Abu Sabaya, who was killed in a sea encounter in Zamboanga del Norte two years ago, was arrested on kidnapping charges in Basilan the other day.


Superintendent Bensali Jabarani, Basilan police director, said Satra Abdulaop Tilao was nabbed in Isabela City by a joint police-military team on the strength of a court-issued warrant. 


Tilao was tagged as an accessory in the ransom kidnapping of mostly foreign tourists in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan a few years ago.

                    [Summary] => ZAMBOANGA CITY — Police and the military tightened  security for public school teachers assigned in far-flung places in Basilan island following intelligence reports that bandits, who  escaped from detention last April 10, were plotting to abduct them.


The report was  confirmed by a state-run college administrator but said the threat was not new.


"This threat against our teachers is nothing new, it just comes and goes," Luningning Misuares, president of the Basilan State College, said over local radio rgMA yesterday.
