Philippine Ambassador to Moscow Ernesto Llamas said Sukhin Energy, Inc. (SEI) has finalized an agreement with the Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC) to initially install a 2.5 megawatt synthesized gas station that could generate 10-12 megawatts of electricity for the island of Masbate using coconut husks.

                    [Summary] => The Department of Energy (DOE) is expecting a slight delay in the construction of the mother-daughter compressed natural gas (CNG) refilling station of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. 


"The rolling out of the mother-daughter CNG station may be delayed by two months.  It may be ready by August 2005. So the fielding of CNG buses seen to happen in June this year will be delayed," Energy Undersecretary Peter Abaya said.

Sukhin and PNOC plan to construct a mother station and two mobile daughter refilling stations for compressed natural gas (CNG) buses. 


DOE Secretary Raphael Lotilla said  CNG will reduce the transport sector’s dependence on oil-based products.
