[Title] => Purefoods fate known today
[Summary] => San Miguel Corp. top honchos have reportedly got affirmative answers from majority of the PBA team owners and may get the needed number of votes when the PBA board of governors decides the fate of the Purefoods franchise today.
Purefoods, a former Ayala Group food company now under the giant SMC umbrella, needs a two-third vote of the board or it will have its PBA franchise bidding goodbye to the league at the end of the season.

[Title] => Alvarez staying with Pasig Pirates
[Summary] => High-flying cager Bong Alvarez denied recent reports that he is negotiating with Alaska Milk for his return to the PBA. The 32-year-old Alvarez, dubbed Mr. Excitement since barging into the pros in 1989, said he was willing to finish the one year remaining in his contract with Pasig-Rizal in the MBA, this despite the fact that the Pirates have not yet paid his last two-and-a-half-months salary. Pasig-Rizal and ABS-CBN are each paying Alvarez P250,000 monthly.

[Title] => Metrostars'Adducul all set to join PBA?
[Summary] =>
Manila Metrostars' ace slotman Rommel Adducul may just hop in the last bus ride
to the PBA this season.
A reliable source said at least four PBA teams have started sending feelers to
Adducul once again after hearing news that the Metrostars management is now
open to discussion for a possible buyout deal involving its star cager.
Apparently, Manila officials have thought it's better to release Adducul now
than lose him without compensation as his contract will expire at the end of
the year.
