The Inter-Agency Committee on Rice and Corn is set to deliberate on the issue of additional rice importations this year, following the submission by the Department of Agriculture of its palay production projections for 2010.

"Although there could be a disparity between local production as against our requirements, we cannot declare there is a shortage," Abad stressed.
