[Title] => Pera-pera sa survey
[Summary] =>
WIKA ng barbero kong si Mang Gustin, hindi na dapat pagtiwalaan ang surveys ng mga pollsters gaya ng SWS at Pulse Asia dahil mayroon silang kinikilingang kandidato. In other words, hindi objective kundi bias. Maraming tao ang may ganyang kaisipan. Hindi natin sila masisisi dahil sa nagsulputang balita na minanipula ang resulta ng mga naturang surveys.

[Title] => Microfinance: More talk than credit
[Summary] =>
It could get somewhat confusing. An article in this week’s issue of The Economist has declared microfinance not just a success but also profitable enough for top tier microlenders to manage on their own. Yet, I found out last week in Sariaya, Quezon, the vegetable farmers that government has targeted for special attention are still dependent on traditional 5/6 lenders and indebted to seed and fertilizer dealers and middlemen.

[Title] => Giving the economy a kick start
[Summary] => As we get back into action in this new year, one thing emerges as a source of hope for better times. And that will have to be how we will take responsibility for ourselves in the face of an uncertain economy. Ces Drilons evening talk show on ANC tackled two alternatives in two separate episodes recently. One is to take the OFW route and bid the country goodbye, albeit temporarily. The second is to become an entrepreneur.

[Title] => Where and when did we go wrong?
[Summary] => It could get a little tiresome, perhaps because of the futility of it all. I am talking about how many conversations at social gatherings today seek to analyze what went wrong, when did we start going downhill and, finally, if there is still hope. Middle class professionals are in a state of near despair and I hear the word "migrate" a little too often.
