From 'Filipinos Contra Latinos', the first ever Pinoy Pride show in the United States will now be known as the "Philippines vs the World". The historic event will take place at the StubHub Center in Carson City, California on October 17.

One of the country’s few active world champions, Donnie “Ahas” Nietes is currently on a roll, winning his last 16 fights and netting two world titles in the process.

Nietes captured his first world championship in 2007, defeating Thailand’s Pornsawan Porpramook via unanimous decision for the WBO minimumweight crown. He has defended the title four times, even going overseas thrice to stake the crown on his Mexican opponents’ home turf.
