(SkyCable) has asked the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) not to enforce Memorandum Circular 4-8-88, the same rule that GMA 7 is invoking in an administrative complaint filed with the NTC to compel SkyCable, HomeCable and Pilipino Cable to return its broadcast signal to Channel 12.

Under this 1988 "must-carry" rule, cable operators are required to carry off-air broadcast signals on their respective channels of assignment unless technically not feasible. GMA 7 is presently carried on Channel 14 on the SkyCable and HomeCable systems.

In its motion filed last May 13, GMA alleged that despite an order from the NTC, the three cable TV stations still refuse to return complainant’s VHF station back to Channel 12 and its UHF station back to Channel 27.
