Vice President Sara Duterte said she was surprised by her tandem with Sen. Imee Marcos for the 2028 presidential elections, which was floated by Sen. Robin Padilla during an Independence Day event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 1Sambayan coalition warned nations considering hosting former president Rodrigo Duterte – should his interim release be granted – that accepting him would be a “betrayal” of justice and accountability and damage their reputation on the world stage.

Senators now serve as impeachment judges, not just lawmakers. Yet some have been seen publicly fraternizing with Vice President Sara Duterte, casting doubt on the impartial justice they swore to deliver. 

Vice President Sara Duterte arrived in the country yesterday from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where she led the 127th Philippine Independence Day celebration.

Without directly confirming its position on the matter, the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court said it will respond to the request for interim release of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
