I was very sad to hear of the recent passing of an old colleague from my first foray into journalism — Nemesio Dacanay, who was then the City editor of the Philippines Herald, one of the pre-martial law period’s smaller but pre-eminent newspapers.

Former sports editor Emmanuel Perez de Tagle died in his sleep early morning Sunday in his residence at Pacita 2 Subdivision in San Pedro, Laguna.
