The Bantayan Electric Cooperative had chosen Bipcor, among four bidders, as its supplier of power at P5.05 per kilowatt-hour for a period of 15 years.
Last September 12, Banelco and Bipcor applied at the ERC for the approval of their supply agreement. Later on November 8, ERC held a public hearing on the matter.

[Summary] => More remote barangays in the country are expected to avail of the electrification program of the government as the Energy Regulatory Commission recently ordered the release of P1.34 billion fund to National Power Corporation-Small Power Utilities Group for the years 2005 to 2008 for the implementation of the program.
In its decision yesterday, the ERC authorized the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation to release the fund to NPC-SPUG and ordered the latter to submit within 15 days after the receipt of the fund reports on how it is being used.
