PAGC Chairman Dario Rama and Commissioner Teresita Baltazar denied for lack of merit the petition seeking Braganza’s suspension filed by DAREA president Violeta Bonilla and her supporters on Monday. The PAGC officials said it is unnecessary to preventively suspend Braganza since the case is already up for resolution.

Braganza agreed to form an eight-member joint committee that will fast-track some 400 agrarian reform cases which Unorka has brought to the DAR’s attention.

                    [Summary] => An angry Agrarian Reform Secretary Hernani Braganza ordered yesterday a thorough investigation into the shooting incident at the DAR’s Southern Mindanao office in Davao City which resulted in  injuries to a DAR employee and eight protesting farmers.


This developed as Braganza, who is now in Oslo, Norway, also accepted the offer of DAR regional director Rodolfo Inson to go on leave pending the result of the investigation. Inson reportedly witnessed the shooting incident.
