Fifty years ago, on July 9, 1963, their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand arrived at the Manila International Airport for their five-day State Visit to the Philippines. That evening, a State Dinner was given by then President Diosdado and Mrs. Eva Macapagal at Malacañang. Their Majesties’ visit included a trip to Baguio, where King Bhumibol attended a parade and review by cadets of the Philippine Military Academy. Another trip south of Manila was to the University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños.
