The Philippines is definitely joining the worldwide race to capitalize on wireless technology, if the recent spate of advertisement for WAP (Wireless Applications Protocol) 'phones' is an indicator. Webtechnologies Asia Inc., a local wireless applications developer, said WAP technology allows wireless devices and phones to access the Internet.

Ian Ong, WAP Systems head at Webtechnologies Asia Inc. said, "Mobile Media, our wireless applications and content group, has developed WAP-portfolioTM, the Philippines' first interactive applications range.
