In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange yesterday, MIPI chairman and chief executive officer Jose Antonio U. Gonzalez said the company was constrained to rescind the MOU for various reasons stated in its communication with CDC, although he did not elaborate.

In a letter to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Antonio Jose Gonzalez, chairman and CEO of MLRC’s parent firm Mondragon International Philippines Inc. (MIPI), said they have postponed the annual stockholders meeting originally scheduled yesterday, for another six months, or on Sept. 15, 2003.

PentaCapital said its decision to quit as financial advisor of Mondragon was prompted by Gonzalez’s accusation that the company’s rehabilitation proposal for Mondragon Leisure and Resorts Corp. (MLRC) was a "crony deal."
