I remember having written that the campaign for the May 2013 elections unofficially started sometime in mid May 2012, one year earlier with “pulong-pulongs” conducted by opposing political teams three times a week. Look for a place in the middle of Cebu City where the barangay officials are totally blind to the lawless incursions of a few of their constituents into a public road and you will point your finger at Barangay Mabolo.

I could not understand my feelings while reading a news report carried in this paper the other day that eight houses were demolished in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

But, my seller, owing to his social conscience, I am certain, made sure that there his front fence was so made with about a meter and a half distance from Mina Street as to provide a narrow strip of a sidewalk for pedestrians. (The land surveyor actually told me that the said sidewalk is very much a part of the small lot I acquired.)
