Pasay City's recall elections will push through tomorrow after the Supreme Court, voting 8-6, junked yesterday a petition of incumbent Mayor Jovito Claudio to stop the polls.

Claudio, through his lawyer Pete Quirino Quadra, had argued that holding the elections would be unconstitutional because Congress had not set aside funds for the purpose.

The Commission on Elections is investigating the proliferation of illegal campaign materials in Pasay City which have swamped the poll body's own campaign posters.

Comelec chairman Harriet Demetriou acted yesterday on reports that posters, streamers, and other campaign materials of candidates in Pasay's recall elections on April 15 are posted in non-Comelec-designated areas.
