OLONGAPO CITY — It was a busy day yesterday for the joint contingent of US Navy hospital corpsmen and their counterparts from the AFP Medical Corps as patients lined up for a free medical and dental clinic  in Barangay Barretto Community Center.


But the happiest to serve the people were two US Navy corpsmen from USS Juneau – Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Ronald Eusebio, from Imus, Cavite, and Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Arnold dela Peña, from San Manuel, Tarlac.

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The USS Juneau (LPD 10), an Austin-class amphibious transport ship, will be arriving here today (Feb. 23) for a scheduled port visit and a series of goodwill activities in Olongapo City and the rest of Zambales province.


Capt. Burrell Parmer, public affairs officer of the United States Marines’ 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, said more than 600 American sailors and marines will participate in civil-military projects like free medical and dental clinics for indigent patients.

Gov. Parouk Hussin of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said the declaration of Jolo, capital town of Sulu, as a "peace zone" augurs well for the peaceful conduct of the May 10 elections there and in surrounding municipalities.
