The Philippines has everything to lose and nothing to gain from the cancellation of the joint RP-US military exercises next year, according to the Presidential Commission on the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFACom).

VFACom executive director Zosimo Paredes said the Philippines stands to lose in terms of training, technology and military equipment that the US donates to the country.

He warned that the country’s image before the international community would also suffer for not complying with its defense agreement with the US.
