                    [Summary] => The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has placed Jade Progressive Savings and Mortgage Bank under the  receivership of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) for its inability to pay its maturing obligations.


The BSP decided to place Jade Bank under receivership on Dec. 18 this year on the basis of the findings of the BSP’s department of thrift bank and non-bank financial institutions that the bank "cannot continue  in business without involving probable losses to its depositors or creditors."
