Over 2,000 members of the Xavier community participated, with the majority gathered in the gym for the Jubilee Mass and Commitment Rites while hundreds more watched via webcast from simultaneous reunions in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Xiamen.

He joined his Creator peacefully at the age of 88 at St. Lukes Medical Center in Quezon City.
His body lies at the Xavier School Multi-Purpose Center where daily Masses will be held at 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 8:30 a.m., to be presided by Fr. Ismael Zuloaga, SJ, and concelebrated by other Jesuit priests. The body will be laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Novitaite in Novaliches.
