I read a fair bit but no more than friends who are avid readers. Maybe it is laziness or maybe it is a weakness of mind but the ability to concentrate on a book has eluded me for years. In the past four years only a few books have instantly gripped me.

It’s a new moment as I write this. I spent a few minutes attempting to write an article for this column but it wasn’t going anywhere, so I thought I’d seize this new moment that is unfolding right now and just go with it.

Such was the case when Cellar & Cellar hosted an evening of wine tasting at the Makati Shangri-La featuring 31 wines from the four most famous wine-producing regions of Italy – Piedmont, Veneto, Tuscany and Abruzzo.

Cellar & Cellar president Jennifer Yap and somellier-founder Pasquale Binetti made sure no guest was left dry. Truth is, there were so many choices, so little time to sample all the wines!
