                    [Title] => Pets just know
                    [Summary] => I spent the holidays at home, most of the time lying in bed with Gorby, my Toy Poodle, or when mood allowed, reading a few books.

Acquired Tastes
by Peter Mayle and The Philosopher’s Dog: Friendships with Animals by Raimond Gaita were the books I had chosen to chew on.

Acquired Tastes
was given to us by our editor Millet. Mayle gives his readers a taste of what the life of the people who have is like. The wit and the humor Mayle is known for runs all over the book.

Arf! It’s another New Year [Summary] => It’s fun to share the holidays with Gorby, Greta and Boris, my Mom and the rest of my family. Whoever is around. And, it’s just as important that the pets have as much fun as the folks do during the New Year celebrations.

Although I do remember the New Year’s that we spent with Yuri. He used to be deathly scared of the loud noise that firecrackers make. I remember trying to comfort him the best I could – but nothing seemed to work.

It’s a fact.

I guess, the god of dogs did it to compensate for their size. In my experience as a human to my doggies – it is Gorby, my Toy Poodle, who runs the fastest. Gorby is also the quickest to spot a cat hidden among the trees and bushes. This does not mean that Gorby gets to the cat faster than Greta and Boris, the Mini Schnauzers – they got longer legs – but I can’t knock Gorby for trying.

No day passes without me wishing I could take them all with me – wherever I go.

Gorby, the youngest of the bunch, has become my regular companion. He is small, doesn’t bark a lot and gets along quite well with every one and every other pet I meet. The older dogs Yuri, Greta and Boris have become used to the idea that they have to stay at home – at least I hope they have grown used to that.
