Cebuano Cerge Remonde will assume as Press Secretary in the latest revamp in the cabinet of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, which takes effect on February 1.

Tiglao, Mrs. Arroyo’s spokesman when she first assumed the presidency, replaces Silvestre Afable Jr., who resigned last month to focus on his work as chief government negotiator in peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

It was not yet clear whether Tiglao would eventually serve in a permanent capacity.

He said the DOT would take them in to replace DOT employees in Manila who do not want to be assigned here.

The other option is to make the transfer to Cebu attractive to the Manila employees, he said.
