The prosecution presented Gil Macato of the NBI as their first witness, but defense lawyer Hector Fernandez wanted to convince the court that Macato is not an expert witness despite the latter's claim that he had already performed autopsy on about 3,000 corpses.

                    [Summary] => The court yesterday denied the request of the counsels of murder suspect SPO4 Juanito Pajantoy that he be placed under the custody of the Cebu City Police Office instead of being detained at the Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center.


The defense counsels presented city police director Melvin Gayotin to try to persuade Regional Trial Court Branch 5 judge Ireneo Gako Jr. to put Pajantoy under his custody. 


Defense counsel Clarence Paul Oaminal told Gako that as a policeman Pajantoy "should not be mixed with criminals."
