[Title] => Schwarzenegger vetoes financial aid for illegal college students
[Summary] =>
The Los Angeles Times recently reported that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a proposed law that would have allowed certain illegal alien college students to be eligible for student aid and scholarships. According to Gov. Schwarzenegger, "While I do not believe that undocumented children should be penalized for the acts of their parents, this bill would penalize students here legally by reducing the financial aid they rely on to allow them to go to college and pursue their dreams."

[Title] => Schwarzenegger vetoes bill allowing drivers licenses for illegals
[Summary] => On September 22, 2004, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill that would have allowed some two million illegal immigrants to obtain California drivers license. According to the governor, the bill, authored by Sen. Gil Cedillo (D-Los Angeles) and Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez (D-Los Angeles), did not adequately address his security concerns.
The governor wanted a provision that would put a special identifying mark on the licenses issued to illegal immigrants. But supporters of the bill said such a mark was discriminatory.
