Losing his patience on the alleged "ineptitude" of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to act on perennial flooding in the Metropolis, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Jejomar Binay urged yesterday all mayors in Metro Manila to intensify anti-flooding operations.

Binay, who also chairs the Metro Manila Disaster Coordinating Council (MMDCC), said that close coordination between the MMDA and the LGUs will lead to solution of flooding problems in the Metropolis.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) blamed yesterday the "ineptitude" of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the perennial flooding of the Metropolis everytime the rainy seasons comes.

In yesterday's emergency meeting conducted by the Metro Manila Disaster Coordinating Council (MMDCC), MMDA General Manager Violeta Seva pointed an accusing finger at the failure of the DPWH's flood control management program.
