[Summary] => Oh, the new curtains are lovely. Gari did a really good job. I had chosen pale-blue cotton with embroidered white flowers for the kitchen and they look so pretty and fresh. Mabango. The fabric looks like it came straight from Pottery Barn. But it is decidedly cheaper because it is from Gari. In the guestroom, the curtains are a striped fabric in three tones of yellow and in the den, Roman shades in bright blue with strips that crisscross as a border in yellow ochre and a strange but nice shade of red. I am happy. The rooms are happy.

And I thought they only came in threes. One day in mid-July, I woke up and realized that most everything had just fallen apart or was about to. The dogs had ravaged parts of the landscaping Manong Florencio, the gardener, had lovingly, patiently and painstakingly tried to nurture the past few months. Helen (one of the dogs, whose name I seriously want to change after watching Sukob) just won’t stop. Bushy, unkempt hair and all (she is actually a strange mix of a poodle and a German Pointer), she just digs, and digs and digs some more.

When Richard and I got married, he had just finished building and furnishing his house so all I really had to do was pack my bags and move in. I did not get to experience the pains and joys of choosing furniture and fixtures – everything was down pat almost to the last detail. But don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining at all.
