[Title] => Ecleo fails to finish 30-minute stress test
[Summary] => Cult leader Ruben Ecleo Jr. underwent a stress test yesterday but his failure to finish the required 30-minute run using a treadmill machine supported his lawyer's claim that the parricide suspect is still not physically fit to be sent back to jail.
Ecleo's lawyer Orlando Salatandre said his client only spent 16 minutes running through the machine instead of the 30-minute requirement based on his age to prove his health condition.

[Title] => Ecleo Case: Prosecution lawyers to withdraw evidence
[Summary] => The prosecution panel in the parricide case filed against cult leader Ruben Ecleo Jr. yesterday asked Regional Trial Court judge Geraldine Faith Econg to allow them to withdraw pieces of evidence they had submitted to the court.
Prosecution lawyer Fritz V. Quiñanola hopes that the court would grant their motion, but the defense said it would object the move.
Econg yesterday called for a chamber conference with the lawyers of both parties, including the government prosecutors who used to handle the case filed against the former mayor of San Jose, Surigao del Norte.

[Title] => ECLEO PARRICIDE CASE: Court orders prosecutors to present all evidence
[Summary] => Saying it now wants to hear the side of the accused, the court yesterday ordered the private prosecutors of the parricide case against former mayor and cult leader Ruben Ecleo Jr. to present all their evidence not later than December 16.
Regional Trial Court judge Geraldine "Faith" Econg said she could not afford the case to drag for another year because the accused also has the right for a speedy trial. Ecleo's wife was killed in January 2001.
