DFA spokesman Gilberto Asuque said there is no existing extradition treaty between the Philippines and Germany so they have to explore other options in addressing the case. 


According to reports, German Uwe Friesl had escaped to Bavaria, Germany, where he hails from, based on information coming from the German embassy in Manila.

                    [Summary] => A German suspected of killing a compatriot and three other people on the resort island of Boracay in Aklan last May 2 has been barred from leaving the country.


On orders of acting Justice Secretary Ma. Merceditas Gutierrez, the Bureau of Immigration placed Uwe Friesl in the hold-departure list on Wednesday.


A copy of the order has been furnished the Department of Foreign Affairs.


Friesl has been charged with robbery with homicide before the Aklan provincial prosecutor’s office.
