[Title] => Squeezing everything out of Angelo affair
[Summary] => The caller, introducing himself as researcher for a hit television talk show, wanted my opinion on their upcoming episode. It’s about the talk of the town, of course: Angelo de la Cruz. "By the way, I read you everyday," the researcher predicated his questioning. I savored the flattery without telling him that my column comes out only thrice a week.

[Title] => RP pullout from Iraq no surety vs terrorists
[Summary] => Filipino Christians and Muslims united in supplication Saturday for the life of Angelo de la Cruz. Power of prayer brought quick national relief. Angelo’s Iraqi abductors delayed his beheading with their new deadline for RP to recall its peace-keeping forces. But after the last amen also came quick recriminations. "Angelo’s blood will be on President Arroyo’s hands if she doesn’t comply," cried a militant at a Manila vigil for the compatriot.

[Title] => ‘Muslims not targets in terror drive’
[Summary] => Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye yesterday denied accusations that a crackdown on suspected Islamic extremists plotting terror attacks amounted to a campaign against the country’s Muslim minority.

"There is no politics or ethno-religious discrimination in the government’s anti-terrorism drive," Bunye said, adding that the recent arrests of Muslims in Manila’s suburbs were "based on the information that was gathered by the intelligence community."

"We believe that this is based on solid information," he said.
