BAGUIO CITY — The 57th Fil-Am Golf Invitational, one of the country’s longest running tournaments, reels off today with the seniors competition where participants numbering 234 representing 45 teams take center stage as they start their quest for team and individual honors in the Fil and Am divisions.


The hitting of the traditional ceremonial drives first at Camp John Hay then at the Baguio Country Club yesterday formally launched the tournament which is now run and manage by the newly-created Fil-Am Foundation.

Long regarded as the biggest golf tournament in the country, the 57th Fil-Am will be run by the foundation to, among others, jumpstart the development of golf in the Northern Luzon and Cordillera Region with the proceeds from this year’s event.
