[Summary] => While most young girls would rather spend their time playing with fellow youngsters, Yvonne Quisumbing-Romulo, as a little girl, preferred to hang around in her mom’s dress shop. One such clothing artist is eclectic and energetic Stefanie Sarmiento, Stef to her friends, the moving force behind Rustan's formidable male clothing line, Salt.

"My entire driving force for Salt was inspired by my father," Stef explains in a nostalgic tone. "I really prioritize my family and they mean so much to me. When Rustan's asked me to go on a buying trip in Europe to see what might help create a new male clothing line, I was a little hesitant to go because my father was sick. He passed away on the day I arrived in Milan. Salt is my tribute to him - his style, his looks, his fashion. He was very classy and elegant, which is the way most of the pieces in Salt are classic clothes that transcend trend. I still infuse some present-day vogue into the collections, but mostly they're clean, stylish and timeless."

Indeed when one looks at the many pictures of her father that Stef displays inside her funky chic flat, it’s easy to see why the clothes that fill up the racks at Salt are not only fashionable but functional.
